Pre-Employment Training

PMC’s pre-employment training programs (PETP) are a proven effective means of overcoming multiple barriers faced by Indigenous people. Grounded in the culture and societal values of the clients being served, these 12-week programs use skills training, coaching, and exposure to career opportunities to promote participant self-awareness and self-confidence, enhance foundational life skills, build support networks and relationships with potential employers.

The PETP combine classroom work, exposure to role models, a hands-on activity such as community fundraising and work placements to develop practical skills and improve confidence and motivation. After the program, participants may pursue other avenues within the Integrated Pathway to Employment model such as immediate employment, job specific training, supported employment, and/or further education to obtain Grade 12 diploma or trades certification.
