Dave is a human resources specialist with a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations. His specialty is capacity building, and he has prepared job descriptions, evaluated jobs and provided training in managing performance gaps to Indigenous clients. Dave’s areas of expertise also includes performance appraisals, organization design, strategic recruitment, change management, policy development and soft skills training. He loves the consulting cycle: working with leaders to define problems, identifying the changes needed, implementing the changes, monitoring the results, and defining the problems that remain. As a consultant Dave has proven success in partnering with employees at all levels of the organization to align human resources strategy with organizational objectives.
Dave has also designed and facilitated many different workshops, including Introduction to Human Resources, Change Management, Skills for Effective Mentoring, Safety Awareness, and Managing in a Unionized Environment.
He has worked on human resource projects with a number of Cree communities in the James Bay region of Quebec. Dave has been captivated by the beauty of the area and the deep connection the people have with the land.
