Leah is originally from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. She grew up in Qikiqtarjuaq and Iqaluit, although she now calls Ottawa home. She joined PMC’s team in 2017, providing Administrative support for PMC’s work in Nunavut.
She is fluently bilingual in Inuktitut, understanding more so of the Qikiqtaaluk dialect than the Kivalliq dialect. She has a great deal of experience doing administrative work for Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team, for Baffinland Iron Mines, First Air, as well as the Government of Nunavut. She has also worked as a Human Resources Assistant for the Government of Nunavut. Leah’s father is a translator/interpreter into Kivalliq dialect of Inuktitut and Leah shares her father’s joy of helping Inuit understand and be understood across cultural differences.
Leah is passionate about life and enjoys being able to stay connected to Nunavut and Inuit through her work with PMC. Her long-term goals include going back to college to study Executive Business Administration (EBA), buying her first home, and always having a job that she enjoys doing.
